Meet the Artist
Neeka Irene Nooraei is a multidisciplinary fine artist. Originally from California's Bay Area, she now calls the Appalachian Mountains of western North Carolina home, where she lives with her husband and their two beloved rescue dogs.

Specializing in oil painting, Neeka also channels her creativity through dance, writing, and mixed media. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from UCLA, with additional studies in Art History, including a term abroad in Rome, Italy, focusing on Baroque Art.

With a strong foundation in drawing and painting honed through workshops and classes, Neeka also shares her passion by teaching painting to adults and children. Her travels around the world have profoundly influenced her art, inviting a universal perspective. Neeka's work is inspired by observing the relationships between light and color, and a desire to represent the profound beauty of seemingly ordinary moments and subjects.

Neeka is most drawn to impressionism and an alla prima approach. Some of the artists that most inspired her studies include Richard Shmidt, John Singer Sargent, Joaquin Sorolla, Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh, Henri Matisse, Gustav Klimt, and Leonardo Da Vinci.
